Planning and masterplan management for major upgrades to a retirement village in Castle Ridge, featuring 298 new Independent Living Units (ILUs); 327 basement car parking spaces; over 1,700m2 of new community facilities including a gym, indoor pool and activity rooms; and a new community green to form the focal point for events and flexible open space. The masterplan is underpinned by a dramatic increase in accessibility, modernisation and quality of life for residents, alongside a respect for the environment with retention of the majority of significant trees on the site plus 150 new tree plantings. Level 6 has managed key deliverables in the planning proposal and resubmissions, overseen design team responsiveness to Council feedback, achieved tight deadlines and supported swift procurement.

Our scope

Level 6 enabled the masterplanning and planning proposal stages of the Castle Retirement Village, with our full scope including: 

  • Managing and overseeing the resubmission of the Planning Proposal to The Sydney Department of Planning, with feedback from a prior submission.

  • Delivering within a tight timeframe to meet a deadline set by the Department of Planning.

  • Overseeing a design team to successfully revise and respond to council feedback, including the lead design consultant, Architectus.

  • Enabling the rapid procurement of consultants, including administrative support.
