Global Citizenship

Instillation of ongoing curiosity and a positive ethos is the cornerstone of Level Six’s vision.

We strive never to accept complacency – rather, to constantly evolve in accordance with social and economic climates, the business and operational needs of their clients and partners and, just as importantly, the things that they believe in, are motivated by and value.

Today’s opportunities will not be tomorrow’s, so it’s important for our business, our clients and the broader community that we have the capacity and agility to be ever-changing.

A strong platform for our ethos is our focus on the fundamentals of global citizenship – whereby core social, political, economic and environmental factors are addressed on different levels and through a broad lens – and how this relates to our work and network.

Philosopher and sociologist Howard Gardner published Five Minds for the Future, in which he draws on his cognitive research and stresses key needs for global citizenship. These needs are defined below and are incredibly relevant in the work we do, as well as the relationships we build and facilitate.

These needs inform Level Six’s corporate pillars:

  • Synthesised Mind, to critically select and integrate relevant information
  • Creative Mind, to develop new products and new approaches to problem-solving
  • Respectful Mind, to appreciate diversity; and

Many people have asked about the derivation of the name 'Level Six.'

I've always had a keen interest in learning about different leadership and business styles. When I decided to start my own company, I came across a Harvard Business Review article outlining a 'purpose-driven' leadership model.

The final level - Level Six - is about 'Transcendence', where we work to rise beyond just looking out for ourselves and strive to benefit wider project contexts and all society by doing what we do - exactly the kind of business I wanted to create.

At Level Six, we look for the opportunity to not just deliver a great outcome for our clients in a practical sense but to understand our project and client environments more broadly and apply management strategies accordingly. We aim to, and make, a positive contribution to society on many levels, behaving as responsible global citizens.

Our methodology is a key ingredient in the success of our business relationships – and that is true for those both internal and external to the company. ‘What we do’ is one thing. ‘How we do it’ is the most important thing, and we pride ourselves in tailoring our working methodology to suit the needs of an individual client.

We are committed to maintaining a constant focus on pushing in both directions of a project and driving strategy and productivity both on the client side and consultant/contractor side.  We are in this position as agent and advisor for a reason, and the types of clients that enjoy working with us the most are those that will value us working rigorously with them, and striving to do things differently to achieve the optimum strategic approach for an individual project, and diligent and efficient decision making.  All the while we are supporting our consultant teams to do the same.  In this way we go above and beyond reporting on progress and managing risk, and it’s the bi-directional push that extracts more from the whole value chain.

If we can support our clients and consultants in the right way by providing strong cases for our ideas and the right strategic approach, and by adapting our own working methodology to suit our client’s environment, the individuals in our project team, and the individual project’s needs, then we are starting to do our job.  The Level Six team has worked in challenging environments overseas where this kind of discipline is necessary for success. Our fear is never about making waves, it’s about not making enough positive waves.

People and Projects

The Level Six team is led by Director and Founder, Rebecca Angel.

With over 20 years of professional experience in the development space, Rebecca has experience spanning Australia, the UK/Europe and the USA. Her international experience has covered Mixed-use, Cultural, Civic, Retail, Residential, Commercial, and Education projects, with project values from under a million to $1.5 billion – experience that has equipped Rebecca with the ability to manage a range of complex stakeholders and consultant teams, and appreciate the needs of various client types. Prior to Level Six, Rebecca held Director positions, both consultant and developer side, during a significant career in London.

Holding an MBA from a top tier US business school with a strong financial focus, Rebecca’s understanding and management of business operations makes her a well equipped and adaptable asset for any project team.

Rebecca has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and across the numerous disciplines required to deliver a project from end to end.

  • To provide funding for a project for an agreed return on investment
