Student experience

A review of the existing state of retail (food and beverage as well as services such as health/wellness and other supporting functions) across campus.

Research on the University’s position against other G08 universities, national and global trends, existing performance against benchmark data as well as the demands and needs of the students and staff to provide a positive experience.

Our scope

Key requirements of the project has included:

  • Review and analysis of the University’s key data on retail strategy drivers, such as student numbers on campus, movement patterns, expenditure, demographics, key trends and feedback via student and staff surveys and the like

  • Management of projection of future demand given campus development potential, student growth over time and surrounding demand & competition context

  • Management of retail specialist inputs, including pressure testing and synthesis of advice (at times consistent, at times differing) to formulate a suitable strategy for the University’s needs

  • Preparation of draft Business Case presenting the findings, status and recommendations for implementation – to be issued to University Executive for endorsement

  • Development of Implementation Plan – including Principals Requirements, program to suit the University’s critical path for meeting demand (driven in part by demolition of existing services and in part by current under supply of food and beverage)

  • Review of existing management and opportunities for change to drive better retail & experience outcomes

  • Client Representation (Property & Development) for the facilitation of the resulting projects, including both and Interim Retail and Long Term Retail workstreams
