The Project

Multiple capital works project for Lake Haven Shopping Centre, ranging from new pad site preparation for new incoming tenancies, tenancy re-carve of island site incorporating new facades and traffic movement, de-fit of existing tenancies, and base build works to main centre for incoming tenancies.


This project entailed the provision of full Project Management services including:

  • Inputs into business case and formal reporting in line with Vicinity’s corporate requirements
  • Establishment of communications plan with regular project and design team meetings
  • Procurement/appointment of consultant team, management of consultant budget and administration of agreements/invoices etc
  • Preparation and management of Statutory and services Authority approvals
  • Design Management – including optioneering and associated cost/benefit analyses
  • Coordination with relevant internal teams including Design and Leasing (head office), and Centre Management and Maintenance (centre based) to ensure all requirements are considered and met
  • Risk and opportunities management
  • Management of project program & budget
  • Analysis of impacts on existing assets/infrastructure
  • Design Development including value management
  • Coordination of Request for Tender documents for Construction
  • Review and analysis of contractor tender returns
  • Input into construction contract, liaison with Vicinity’s internal capital works and legal teams to formalise/execute
  • Contract administration and management of the contractor through construction including handover and defects close out
  • Significant communications/negotiations with a key incoming tenant to align expectations and protect Vicinity’s interests and obligations
  • Regular progress reporting.
